We did a pile of those back then, I would always 2 pc the back about half way down. The bottom corners will stretch if you push hard enough.

create a bubble where it swoops and shrink the bubble down.

That's how I do them

cut the bottom short about a 1/8th to 1/4 ". The length of the class on the outside is more then on the inside. this will make the bottom easier to lay.
