i found one of these after going to a 3m training course , the guy had these thing without a logo on them for $400 each saying he developed them and had patents pending. then i stoped by my local harbor freight and found it for $129 with attachments and a 2 year replacement warranty.

best thing out there has a long hose so you can leave it out of the car.

did you let it heatup? It takes about 5 min's to make steam, but after that I can remove film quickly without leaving almost any glue. Matter a fact I used it friday to R&R 4drs and the 2 quarters on a car, and I was done removing the film in less then 30 min's.

A jiffy steamer does get hotter. My hangup with them was the way they spit water out while in use. I never really cared for that. Plus if you are only stripping a door or two the little steamer warms up alot faster then a jiffy. However the main reason I use the little steamer more then the jiffy is because it is alot more portable. I do quite a bit of mobile auto work. Now if I have a full 4dr car to R&R I will breakout the jiffy from time to time. :thumb

It was on for a good 30-40 minutes before we tried it on an R&R job. The stream is only hot the first half inch or inch of the steam, and did nothing to help remove the film without glue...
