We publish a monthly series of mini business development articles called "The Strategic Edge." We get bombarded by so much reading material that we felt that small thoughts will keep you pointed in the right direction when it comes to runing your businesses. You might find them useful, I'll post them here each time we publish one. Hope 2012 is good to all. :beer

Rob those are a nice read, I think a premier mfr should develop a program with it's dealers that helps them in the field. With how to and whom to target for commercial applications. Many installers do not understand the process involved in getting in front of the decision makers. Many do not know how to search things like the construction journal or I SF. Few understand the GSA and how public funded projects are awarded and who the awarding authority is. In a nut shell, many mfrs appear content to schlep auto film all day and covet the FG market.

      South facing windows DR film

      Install went great. I went with NV-25, I am very happy. The room has been darkened significantly, from bright and hot to much more pleasant and enjoyable. Watching TV during the day is no longer blinding, when it is cloudy it is definitely a bit gloomy, I am glad I did not go with NV-15. I plan on getting more windows done in the future to help cut down on heat energy. Thanks for everyone's input!

      Stratos 70 on windshield, what is this?

      Captain Obvious has two cents err senses to share: 1) The film should be removed and replaced, because it appears to have adhesive blemishes that shouldn't be there, and 2) The film should be reviewed/inspected once taken from the roll to avoid losing time and resources due to manufacturing issues. Little pieces not so much, but back glass and windscreen pieces ... definitely.

      I switched so long ago... first to KDS but they went away. NT are great though. I use a piece of white strapping material as a cutting buffer between the blade and glass. Some use a button but I didn't like the feel..
