I have this project coming up, these are large nasty 1/4" single panes (largest is 89x107 and 92x90). It's in an older part of town with old aluminum frames, these are not tempered and I can't imagine them being 1/4 plate glass due to safety! I am doing exterior black out on half and some interior syds35%. How can I tell if their laminated or not??

Even if you do get the film on looking clean. What you are doing to those windows is almost asking for a broken glass.

I can tell if it is laminated just by tapping on it. Laminated sounds different, more like a thud instead of a tick. Either way, something there is prolly going to break

Tom I've never had single pane glass break...is it because of the size, glass type or gasket or all of the above? Any other way to tell if there laminated other than tapping?

Size and the fact that you're using I highly absorbent film on half of the window and black out on the other half. And it might not ever break but there is a very high chance that it could

no no....half the job is black out and half is tint. Panes for black out....92x90, 64x107, 30x107

panes for tinting 47x107, 89x107, 47x107

Oh I see what you're talking about. I would definitely ask son text if I will cover the syds 35 on that large window. As for the blackout thats at your own risk. But seeing how you're going to install it on the outside you might be okay.

being an old building I would lay odds that it is going to be just 1/4 plate glass. Unless it was replaced in the last 10 years or so and then it would likely be tempered. I would not even think it would be laminated with those sizes.

Hey Ryker, what up man. Yeah very old and I was thinking the same just plate glass but wow how dangerous is that !! Yes suntek will cover all under 40sf.
