Touch Screen Film with Projecton

Recommended Posts

Very cool install for the NY Auto Show.

We Installed Projection and Touch film on this Dodge Ram. The Projection film goes on first, then the touch screens. The Doors glasses were all touch, you could check in on Facebook and Twitter. The other windows were all projection screens. Its like white frost, but very different. In the video you can see Fabio and myself installing the films.

It was very cool, even being in the Venue while they were setting up the show. The projection film looks like 2mill white matte, but its made to capture light from the projector, it looks grainy in the photos. Its also not made to be shrunk, the side windows were not too bad, but the windshield took us over an hour of slow shrinking just to get it to sit down. The back windows were also done, over the dark factory tint, but the projections were still very bright.

The touch screens are very different, they go on second, they are rectangle pieces that cant be cut. They are very thick plastic with micro wires in the film with a USB wire coming off the bottom. This allows the touch from the outside of the glass to control the screen.

That is awesome! Can that projection film be used in a commercial setting and come in commercial/residential size rolls?

Yes! This was actually my first auto install, usually I'm installing the screens on storefront windows.

Most applications are on busy NYC streets where people can interactively window shop.

Bloomingdales installed the screens so people can interchange outfits on a digital maniquin on a 6 foot video screen in the window.

The first pic is the install of the touch screen, its clear, but has micro wires to feel the heat from people touching the outside of the glass.

The second pic is the display of the interactive maniquin.
