Memorial Day

Remember what Memorial Day is all about, it is not the BBQ and long weekend. The reason we can do that is because of the sacrifice made by so many.

We were able to place flags at the National Cemetery where my grandparents are buried this morning. Hundreds of people volunteer every year, and the fields transform from perfectly mowed grass to hundreds of thousands of perfectly placed rows of flags in less than 2 hours.

Thanks for this post. My father was a Capt. in the Army. He died when I was three. I think about him a lot. I have the utmost respect for the people in our armed forces and I hope people can put aside their dislike for hypocritical govt. officials, and remember that the people serving our country are the people that matter. Our mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, sons and daughters.

But I will be grilling some super fat ribeyes and drinking some cold beers by my pool.

My Dad was Navy. WWII
