tips on getting dealerships

Recommended Posts

postcard sized mailers explaining your products , and how it can benefit the dealer to close more sales , sell more extended warranties and packages , etc etc.  Get to know the people there . Go and introduce yourself .  Give the VIPS some gift cards to local restaurants , coffee shops etc.  Get to know the aftermarket people. every dealership has a  different title for these peoples job descriptions , but usually they are the ones selling tint to the customer , and anything else the dealer might try to bundle into the sales packages . If at first they don't send you car, don't get discouraged . IT sometimes takes some time to get dealer interest in what you sell, and sometimes it comes down to someone else dropping the ball. Once you do get dealer work , be ready to get cars you don't expect in ridiculous time slots, and all of the BS that comes with keeping the dealer happy.  Also , quality is paramount because of 2 reasons IMHO. the #1 reason is that most dealerships are graded on monthly quality scores , so that one customer whining about the one speck of dust on their new KIA can be the one that causes the dealer to dump you. Reason #2 IMHO opinion is that some dealerships use tint to make profit, and in doing so will double or even triple the cost of what you are charging them .  I have found that the dealerships that send you the most business are the ones that are not marking up the cost of tint, and instead use it to close sales , or sell more of the protection packages , extended warranties, glass etching , etc.  The only other thing I would add is this : Once you get into a good dealership, keep the employees  that work there , their family and friends very happy with what you do . Give the employees that are championing your work gift cards around the holidays ,birthdays , etc. Go out of your way to get to know the people that work there . GM's and the big wigs come and go , and when they do you want those other long term employees to be ready to go to bat for you when the new GM decides that saving a $1 a car is better for their bottom line.
