How many cars out of a 40x100 roll

Recommended Posts

Currently I purchase all of my rolls 60" cut 38x22

Thanks

Doug

Hi Doug G,

The feedback we get from hundreds of our customers is that 38/22 is results in more film on the window and less film in the dumpster.  Have you considered asking your supplier if they offer 60X50 cut 38/22?  It should come in at less money than 40X100.  It's 250 sq/ft vs. 333 sq/ft, so it should be less.

I can't believe that nobody has asked how he cuts the film yet.  From what I have experienced, cumputer cutting can save you film and also waste film sometimes leading to less cars per roll, especially when the computer cuts the film the wrong way or the plotter messes up. I also noticed when hand cutting, you tend to pull a little more film to make the cut that needs to be made meaning a few more inches of waste per car. I can only assume based on the way the 60" rolls are cut, that he uses a plotter.
