Texas Inspection Sticker Going Away

Texas is going to combine the inspection sticker with the registration and it will no longer be applied by the inspection station. This now gives us the ability to not have a cut out because no longer have to worry about an inspector gauging the film. I think what we are going to start doing is putting it on PPF or static cling.

Windshield tint still illegal in Texas?

This does not stop inspections. It means you will have to show a passed inspection report in addition to proof of insurance when getting registration.

I hope this doesn't change online renewal. Lines at the courthouse are... :bs

Clear UV film is legal in Texas changed in '09. I didn't say inspections were going away, just the sticker. Which is nice because now I won't be having the one car a month that an inspection station has to pay to get the windshield redone because they were unable to scrape the old sticker off without going two inches or more to the right and hitting the edge of the film. I don't mind the extra business but not at the expense of the customers time. Would be nice if inspections went away but they do serve a purpose.
