PPF on a panoramic roof

Recommended Posts

So here is a strange one.

Does anyone see any issues with PPF on a glass panoramic roof?

I know there are glass specific films such as clearplex that are designed for wiper blades but would there be any issues putting PPF (in particular Xpel Ultimate) on a glass roof to protect it from possible hail divets, staining, scratching etc?

Just don't want it to compromise the strength of the glass upon removal or worse break or shatter upon removal.

Thoughts?

We did one a few years ago on a Mercedes SUV (don't remember which, they make about ten different ones it seems) and never heard back.  Someone had tinted it and put cut marks on the glass using it as a pattern so the dealership was hoping the PPF would hide the cuts.  It didn't.
