Insurance for mobile tinters that serve dealers

Recommended Posts

I snapped a BMW door trim not too long ago pulling it off......

Thing just snapped. Pulled apart 100 others like them.

Total cost was nearly 4000.

Insurance claim turned that into a $200 excess, and my premiums stayed the same. I still made money off the install.. :lol

It's backup for things like that that just, "happen" but most importantly if anything goes wrong, while their property is in your possession, your covered. I pay $40 a month and get 10mil cover for public liability. It's not bad at all. I'm with GIO,

They're service was great and making a claim was absolutely hassle free and they did not hesitate to pay at all.....

The dealership will be covered anyway, so you could just do the runner if you broke something and they'd be sweet, but you should have it anyway. Maybe some dealers are stricter than others :dunno

Never get insurance to tint a window unless you have a shop if mobile ect why why why

You crazy.....wreck a car.....and you are out of business....

Dealership are ok with damage....It happen to them all the time....Just as long as it is cover...You are still in business.

I had to replace a glass that was not sold aftermarket and it cost $1600 plus labor for a S550.....I was so mad that my guy damage it, but insurance cover it with $500 deduct.  Dealership was ok with it just as long as I made it right.

Just another note.....If you planning to do this as a business....You should have insurance and what ever you need to run a business....

If you are a fly by nite shop....meaning....you just want to try it out and if it don't work then you move on....you should still have insurance....

At the end of the day....have insurance and sleep good at night......

Thanks for your help guys.

Thirtyfive, I phoned GIO and the guy was really helpful. Went over everything I'll be covered for and it sounds perfect.

It's actually BMW's I'll be working with as well so your story was relatable. And I know how much their parts are and it's scary stuff.

And for $40 a month, why wouldn't you!

Thanks again everybody for your input.
