Each manufacturer's film will have a slightly different MD/TD shrink ratio.  It's normal.  There is a very brief learning curve while you get accustomed to the difference.

 

I used to have a terrific fellow working with me in California who toured around the state in a Red V Bug doing demos on the 3 Minute Shrink.  His name was Jim A.  Great guy and superb technician.  He did several SEMA shows with us back in the late 2000's.  If you are reading this Jim, we miss you and we hope you are well.

      It looks like the end of the roll was used which has adhesive marks from being attached to the plastic core. You can't use the very end of the film roll.

      South facing windows DR film

      Install went great. I went with NV-25, I am very happy. The room has been darkened significantly, from bright and hot to much more pleasant and enjoyable. Watching TV during the day is no longer blinding, when it is cloudy it is definitely a bit gloomy, I am glad I did not go with NV-15. I plan on getting more windows done in the future to help cut down on heat energy. Thanks for everyone's input!

      Captain Obvious has two cents err senses to share: 1) The film should be removed and replaced, because it appears to have adhesive blemishes that shouldn't be there, and 2) The film should be reviewed/inspected once taken from the roll to avoid losing time and resources due to manufacturing issues. Little pieces not so much, but back glass and windscreen pieces ... definitely.
