After you make sure you are using the right type of blade, try changing the angle your holding your blade at. That has alot to do with it, hold your blade more perpendicular to the glass, it needs to glide across it, not dig into it.

Put a button under the film, then pierce the film into the button with your olfa, then drag the button with the olfa as you cut.
