I wouldn't touch the Ferrari.  Weakest paint and chances it will pull up when removed.  Also, with Ferrari rolling back odometers on their cars, rock chips would be a way to discourage them from rolling it back, hence preserving resale....  ironic huh?

The GT2 has no badge, its a sticker like the GT3RS.

HMM...have you actually pulled paint when removing on a Ferrari? What year?  Guess I can always pass on the removal if its ever needed but don't think I'll pass up doing the install. Anyone else have any experience with Ferrarri and PPF?

  3. idk I mean carrying general liability to work on a million dollars worth of cars or carrying GL to work on 250,000 worth of cars. The liability alone is enough to make me want to charge more not to mention how huge the bumper is on the $250,000 488 spider. I'm def. gonna charge more or I'll just stick with doing GM's and Fords.

  4. Hey to all my exotic PPF installers. I've been installing PPF for well over 10 years and recently contacted by a gentleman with a few exotics. Well I've never worked on a Ferrari so To start off he wants his 16 Ferrari 488 spider, Full hood, Full Fenders, Full Bumper side mirrors etc... I know from experience that we don't price this one like we would a corvette or a camaro. Using LLumar Platinum can anyone give me some insight on this? He also has a 2018 Porsche 911 GT2RS that he would like the same coverage. How do you all price for exotic installs at your shop?

  6. Hey guys, considering hiring a couple sales people. Having a hard time structuring the pay scale but definitely a base salary + commission for outside sale. One of them will be a hybrid and do both inside sales for the retail and go outside on scheduled days. What are some pay examples that have worked well for your company?  Should a hybrid salesman make more since their working the counter and going outside or should the salesperson who's always out in the field have a higher scale?

  7. I'm super bummed I can't find the makita hg1100 anymore, anywhere!! Those were my favorite heat guns and have bought and sent atleast 5 to the grave, they were lasting us about 2 years. I only have 1 left, so today I stopped the snap on guy and he's going to deliver a snap on ET1400 gun next friday. Anyone ever used them?

oh btw....hello everyone, I haven't been on in quite sometime

  8. You can use a payroll company, or if you are incorporated you can get an exemption for officers of said corporation.

Workers comp alone is quite expensive, but necessary for some jobs

can't exempt president of corporations in MO from workers comp. , different rules for different states but yes depends on payroll / employees

  9. this is the biggest problem with all computer cutting softwares, theres ALWAYS going to be patterns that are short or to big. Sure you can fix it and save it to your liking for next time but you and your installers have to remember this or you'll end up cutting the wrong pattern again. Thats what I like about film designs if I tweak a patter email it to Brett its in my database a couple days later !!

  10. Although they don't offer exclusivity, Suntek south has also told me they would not set anyone else up in my small town 40 miles outside of st.louis. Time will tell....

It makes it hard to compete with a neighbor who is selling the same film, but thats when quality comes into place. Build a better showroom, do better installs, show your customers your knowledgeable on your products & services.

  11. ...and not a tint on the schedule.

So I got the shipment of my Precision cut FC8000 off the UPS truck, got it together, played with the software a bit. Nothing to tint though. Decide to strip and tint the shop van, went pretty smooth, cut with the wrong tip, but it was Greystone and it took it like a champ. Figured that out and about 4pm a guy shows up with a 2006 impreza, asked if we could do it today. Normally that would get a hell no, but I really wanted to try it out. Wasted a bit of tint figuring out setting the force, got it down, 4:30 me and my co-worker were pulling it out to dry. Literally start to finish 30 minutes, with some time spent re-cutting the rear section. I see big things with this setup.

    nice! how were top edges?

  12. I didn't need to trim the rubbers but it was the last car of the day and seriously I didn't know what I was thinking. If you cut the pattern real tight you don't need to trim the rubber. I called the dealer and they're special ordering it from Germany and will be here Thursday. $77 bucks each window. Do not cut from the inside on those quarter glass period. The customer was very happy with the news and how I'm handling the situation that she is going to refer her parents car to me next week. To pulsar2000 I did try to paint it but the opaquer pen is black and the matrix is dark gray you could still see it if your within 3 feet. I just had to be honest with my customer and make things right.

    thats the way to be....

  13. not trying to hijack thread but someone correct me if im wrong, I thought I read somewhere that you can link your bank account to QB and every debit is automatically entered in your books, for example if you go to walmart and spend $200 on office supplies how does it know to put that transaction under office supplies account ??. I have QB 2005 and I have to manually enter every receipt to keep the accounts on track, which version is capable of this?
