We've dealt with several of these types of customers over the years. If he was that irate on his 1st visit after the job, I would simply offer to remove the tint and give him a full refund. I would not attempt to retint it because chances are he will act the same way and you just wasted time/film trying to make him happy. I would just cut my loses right there and move on. If you don't feel comfortable touching his vehicle again (like he might blame you for damage) then offer a 50% refund and he keeps the film. This way you still made some profit and if he has another shop retint it, he will spend even more money on the removal. So win win.

All good advice here. I try to do as much of my clean up dry as possible. These are the extra steps I take
cut around the the putty edge first and the dry scrape the glass up to the frame brush loose all the crap off the frames with a dry stiff nylon brush then vacuum the frames and surrounding areas wet scrape glass, squeggee and dry frames with paper towel from that point on it's a normal install however I do use a peel panel and really wet the adhesive and avoid wetting the glass.
I hope this helps you and anyone else that has challenges with frames like this

Some will tell you that PS is advanced to the point where it will last longer than the films expected life cycle... this is usually parroted by those who have PS flat glass films they want to sell. I have been doing this for the better part of 35 years.. I do not recall ever seeing a DA adhesive failure ..where as I have seen PS failure more times than I can count. While DA adhesive is most certainly a PITA to remove..PS requires a razor blade in most cases as well.. which will inevitably cause the same issues in glass with fabrication debris or other surface 4 coating. That said, the glass that is being produced today is typically such high quality and energy efficient..adding window film is quickly becoming a loser based on ROI. ..

Almost positive that the Titan comes in 72”. Don’t have the price list with me at the house but I’ve done quite a few jobs with it and I can’t  imagine I was limited to 60” this whole time.

Not sure how handy you are but I’ve found that making shade panels for these types of skylights work very well and should outlast any applied film. Just a painted wooden frame with a stretched solar screen material.

Someone on this forum had mentioned corrugated plastic sheets at some point. Wanting something lightweight and transportable, I went off of that idea and created what is below. I scored the sheet on the front and used gorilla tape on the back to make hinges so it is foldable, and use velcro to attach it to a ladder.
