Thanks everyone. I wish I still had the before I moved in pics. God it was an eyesore.

The new doors I had installed a year and a half ago definitely helped the looks and my back from throwing those heavy bastards up. Once I get the outside done. I will be focusing on the waiting area and shop this winter.

Got any 'before' pics?
They didn't load the first time. All good now.

The shop was in need of a new coat of paint, so I decided to change it up a little. I'll post pics as it gets done.
-
As many as it takes to get it right.

Those are way easier then the last two body styles by far. Practice holding your mouth just right next time.

Basically anything that starts with V and ends with W.

Jimmy you just let me know if you switch, and I'll get you into the fileshare database bro. ?
-
First is usually pretty quick to get patterns to new vehicles up. Especially common vehicles. I did an 18 camry this week, and the patterns are already in the database. Same with the rogue sports that started arriving a couple weeks ago. However they do lack a little on windshield patterns. And you won't find patterns too many exotic cars in the system either. All in all. I am happy with the software. However myself and a couple friends use a fileshare program to save our patterns too. Mostly due to the fact that they are designed for panel on installation, and we are a bunch of panel snatchers that prefer the bottoms to be slightly longer.

If you go back to using first cut. Give me a shout. I know the inside and outs of how to run their software really well.
-
Holy hell. Glad you all are ok. Hopefully insurance will get you back up and going again soon.
-
I hate that for you. I been using First Cut for about 3 years now. And I would cry if I had to go back to cutting every car by hand. Love my Roland, and my software. All a matter of adapting to making the machine work for you. I know some people find the switch frustrating, but for me it was rather smooth. I have learned a bunch about the software I use, and how to adjust patterns to fit the way I want them to. Hope things get better for you. And if you can't get along with your current software. Give first cut a try. None are perfect, but I seem to like the first cut program better then anything I have seen or used yet.

Nissan Altima is about as easy as it gets.

I did the front doors on a 2017 Sequoia today. And the factory hood and fender ppf pieces were already pretty yellow, and this thing was brand new.

So using a plotter a 4dr car takes about 5 minutes to cut and weed roughly? Thanks for the reply C2C long time to seeI do both plotter cut, and hand cut.
Plotter is great for increasing speed. While most are on the money for fit. Some patterns will need adjustment to fit like a skilled hand cut pattern. I would say you could save 20 to 30 minutes per full car easily.
I use the time it cutting to pull gaskets or panels. Double win for me, as long as the door patterns are good. Some need to be iver sized, and trim top edge on the window during installation.

Thats a tough one. Very difficult to make everyone happy if you are tag teaming vehicles. There will always be one that doesn't pull their weight, and if not there will be someone who feels another worker doesn't. My best advice if you pay on commission them each tinter would complete a job all on their own and responsible for any redo on said vehicle.
Tag teaming I would probably go base salary plus bonuses based upon work performance.
However I never intend to have employees. I would rather miss a couple jobs then have employees.

Call me crazy, but i do these with the hatch open and the panel removed. Not bad it all done this way at all.
-
I do a ton of them. Normally takes me about an hour to do one, even pulling the panels.
-
I always pull the panels on the rogues. Except for the new body style. You can pop the top on them.
-
Why the hell would anyome need to heat a nissan rogue door glass. Tou guys need to work on how you install your doors. That door glass is super flat.

The new Sentra can be very easy car. Only to pull the panels you have to remove the trim around the inner handle. The best way I have found to do this without causing any nicks to the edges is an old pink chizzler card. Insert it between the silver trim and door handle cup. Use it to unclip the silver trim.

I wish this was posted last week, I bugered up the first one I did. Thank you for sharing though.
I have ment to for over a month. Just kept forgetting to snap a pic. Works great on the sentra and brand new rogue.
Good to know!
I use to use a pick, but would make a spot now and then, barley noticeable. So tried this one day about a month back and I have yet to mark up another one.
Great post man!

C2C even commented on it haha. Granted you didn't say anything about the chizzler.
I do remember it now.
Try the chizzler TW beats the hell out of using a pick or small screwdriver.
Also TW if you or Ric want to combine the 2 threads please do so. I can't figure out how to from my phone.

The best I could come up with on tapatalk is to move it to the Nissan section

Moved in the spring of 2010. Rented it for three years. It now belongs to me. Paid for in full. A lot of hard work, but worth every minute.
