  1. I only stated it was “not legal” to have the whole windshield done as you stated. The rest of that discussion was with somebody else partner.  And I still stand by what I said. Legal and exempt are not interchangeable. It is not legal but you CAN be given special permission. Oh yeah that is also called an exemption. Moving on

You stated even with an exemption I couldn’t tint my whole windshield. You are wrong.
  2. Lol! This doesn’t help your argument. Your highlighted text contains the word “exemption” which means that something ILLEGAL is allowed for a very small segment of the population based on medical issues. Exempt and legal are two different concepts. So what your initial comment should have been is my windshield is darker than legal in the state of Florida because I somehow got an exemption instead of it is legal to have blah blah because I am awesome.

So by you mentioning the exemption then how does it help your case? You stated even with an exemption no tint in windshield except for a strip is allowed. So which is it Mr. sunbreaker? Is it or isn’t it allowed with an exemption. And in my second post I stated I am responsible to go by the law that pertains to me.

  3. Let's end the guessing and nonsense right here.
You are not allowed to use 15%, 35% or even Clear tint on the entire front windshield.
In fact, it's not even legal WITH a medical exemption in Florida.  In fact, NO TINT is allowed on the front windshield in Florida EXCEPT a strip at the top.
    Now you know.

    316.2952 Windshields; requirements; restrictions.—
    (1) A windshield in a fixed and upright position, which windshield is equipped with safety glazing as required by federal safety-glazing material standards, is required on every motor vehicle which is operated on the public highways, roads, and streets, except on a motorcycle or implement of husbandry. (2) A person shall not operate any motor vehicle on any public highway, road, or street with any sign, sunscreening material, product, or covering attached to, or located in or upon, the windshield, except the following: (a) A certificate or other paper required to be displayed by law. (b) Sunscreening material along a strip at the top of the windshield, so long as such material is transparent and does not encroach upon the driver’s direct forward viewing area as more particularly described and defined in Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards No. 205 as the AS/1 portion of the windshield. © A device, issued by a governmental entity as defined in s. 334.03, or its designee, for the purpose of electronic toll payments. (d) A global positioning system device or similar satellite receiver device that uses the global positioning system operated pursuant to 10 U.S.C. s. 2281 to obtain navigation, to improve driver safety as a component of safety monitoring equipment capable of providing driver feedback, or to otherwise route information while the motor vehicle is being operated.

    STATE UNIFORM TRAFFIC CONTROL

316.2953 Side windows; restrictions on sunscreening material.—A person shall not operate any motor vehicle on any public highway, road, or street on which vehicle the side wings and side windows on either side forward of or adjacent to the operator’s seat are composed of, covered by, or treated with any sunscreening material or other product or covering which has the effect of making the window nontransparent or which would alter the window’s color, increase its reflectivity, or reduce its light transmittance, except as expressly permitted by this section. A sunscreening material is authorized for such windows if, when applied to and tested on the glass of such windows on the specific motor vehicle, the material has a total solar reflectance of visible light of not more than 25 percent as measured on the nonfilm side and a light transmittance of at least 28 percent in the visible light range. A violation of this section is a noncriminal traffic infraction, punishable as a nonmoving violation as provided in chapter 318. History.—s. 1, ch. 84-296; s. 1, ch. 91-42; s. 209, ch. 99-248.

    Read this you genius. IMG_3211.PNG

It specifically states windshield!!!! So who is guessing and using nonsense now???
  4. What country do you live in?  That is not legal anywhere in the U.S.  I even scanned the laws just to humor you. Besides it is about what is responsible and considerate of others, but like I said earlier you fall into that category of geniuses that are much more capable and cooler than me.:smh

Lol I live in Florida. I’m responsible enough to know the law that pertains to me and if Florida will allow me to have 5 percent on my windshield then I will have it.
  5. We know someone who has been tinting as a side job for extra cash. He recently installed 35% on a younger guys windshield. Well unfortunately the young man did not see a girl at night time who was walking, he hit her and killed her. I don't care how good your eyes are, or how you adjust them to fit something that isn't needed. When you start going to such dark percentages, you are risking not only your safety, but the safety and LIVES of others.

How can you blame the tint? Maybe he was texting and driving?
  6. I’m not trying to be defensive just stating how I would handle the situation if it arose. Yea I went through three years of driving classes to be able to see dark tint like the police do..90 percent of cops have 6 months of school and that includes leaning all the laws. No way do they have any bad ass driving training and it damn sure wouldn’t help to see better. Let’s be glad I don’t live in California cause I would hate to be told every little thing to do and not be able to think on my own just a little.

If Florida had specifics in their law I would abide by those specifics but fortunately for me there are no specifics mentioned in the exemption. I am happy with my tint and drive at night all the time. It’s not as hard as everyone thinks and you would be very surprised how easily you can see.

  7. Even though I think 15 on the shield is ridiculous and I wouldn’t install it. I agree with everything you just said.

I was very worried about doing it but once it’s done it isn’t dark at all. From the outside it looks really dark but from the inside it really isn’t and is really nice.
  8. And as a tint shop I don’t believe you have the medical knowledge to know what is correct for my type of condition. I would also kindly tell you it’s none of your business and find a different shop. I am not required by law to give you my medical condition. And as long as my tint request with said medical condition falls in the specifications stated by medical exemption then I think you should just tint it.

So you are saying dark tint is unsafe? So why is it officers can have dark tint? Do they have special vision that allows them to see better than me or you? I would think it was more unsafe for an officer to have darker tint because of their driving conditions. So don’t tell me I am unsafe driving normal speed limit with dark tint but an officer can have dark tint and do 20,30,40 mph over the speed limit with said unsafe tint.

  9. Window tint is like a color of a vehicle.  No other state will have jurisdiction as it can't be changed like a radar/laser detector could be.

If it was legal to have a red car in one state but not another that would not be enforceable in a state that it was illegal.

They might hassle you and might even ticket you but the ticket would be based on their state law and it does not apply to vehicles outside of their state.

This makes the most sense. I will bring the statue for Florida with me. There’s no way they can expect me to take it off every time
    I travel.
  10. I always thought that as an equipment/status violation they had to treat it with regard to where the vehicle is registered, just like with states that don't issue a front license plate. In Wyoming you're required to have a front plate displayed on the front of the vehicle(can't have it in the windshield on the dash) but if you're from NC or AZ or some other state that doesn't either issue or require it you can't be ticketed for not having it while you're in WY.

I hope it’s like that. I really don’t want any tickets. I mean when traveling I’ll have my 4 kids and wife I think it all depends on who you are and how you act if they will ticket.
