  1. So check it out, we too tint a lot Tesla's, this week I think we will work on at least 35 of them.

We had a TMY front door crack on us Wednesday.

it's been a minute since we have seen a crack but we have seen this before. Nothing like the problem we had with the rear windows on the TM3's back in 2017 and 2018 but from time to time we do see bad glass.

I think it's safe to say and I believe most people that work on a lot of Tesla's will agree that the quality has gotten a lot better compared to a few years ago but I personally feel that it's important that we all pay attention because were the type of shop that takes responsibility when there's a problem and what that really means is that we write a check.

In this particular situation I feel that we probably could've avoided the glass cracking if we would've noticed how thin the inside layer of the laminated window actually was. When you compare the thickness of the inside layer of glass on this particular window compared to all the other Tesla's we had on the property at the time and also comparing it to the glass we use to replace the cracked window this happened because of the manufacturing process. This window should never have been installed on the car. If you look at the picture carefully you will see that the inside pane of glass is almost paper thin compared to all the other windows.

Heads up everybody and happy Fourth of July!!

  2. Also guys and girls, I highly recommend that you have a release of liability waiver signed, we have had a lot of glass breakage issues, I think right around 12 windows now. Some of them were broken before we even tinted the car.

Also, keep an eye of the type of glass your working on. Some have the polarized looking glass and some do not.

  3. It looks like everyone here knows what they are doing when it comes to the TM3. If anyone has any questions about the 3 feel free to contact me. We have tinted around 500 of them. IMG_1478.jpg.c33d08cd64ffa70f8726d46fc50a1f86.jpg We tint 3 - 5 of them every singe day and as of right now Oct 23, 2018 we have almost 40 of them on the schedule. If you are in the SoCal area and you want to watch a TM3 get tinted or if you would like to use our TM3 rear window to practice again just give us me a call.

  4. Thanks again guys, I know who posted this and whats really funny is that I received 5 phone calls today from dealers and sales reps from all over North America. For those of you that do not know me I was a factory rep for many many years, I have been doing this since the early 1990's. Not only give you the shirt off my back but I will lone you film, lone you tools, let you use my shops and most of all I will help you market your company until the cow comes home. Anyone that has so much free time that they need to post shit about my shop, call the manufactures and post shit on line has an issue. I had two different manufacture reps call me today and tell me they know who posted all of this because they that person has been calling and complaining. So again thanks to everyone for all the nice comets, phone calls and text messages. And for those of you that do not know me personally if you ever have a question about anything you can always call me for help.

    P.S.

For those of you that have not yet used Wincos its a great film. Its green, its shrinks like shit and it is absolutely not what I call installer friendly. However, it is the best window film money can buy. We started installing Wincos back in 2008 I think, maybe 2009 and not one single failure. There are lots of IR window films on the market today but if you want to install a film that not only filters UV and IR today and also in 8 years then this is the film. I don't use it on front windshields because I don't think the clarity is as good as lets say LLumar AIR80 but on the sides, rear windows and most of all panorama roofs I really think the Wincos is the best window film on the market today.

  5.  Thank you Diablo, It sure is a bummer dealing with this kind of stuff. Anyone that has ever stepped foot in my shop knows that not only do I truly offer the absolute best window film in the industry but I also am lucky and blessed that over the years I’ve hired the absolute best window film installers and then we back everything up with the absolute best warranty possible.

Since my last post I talked to another shop owner here in Orange County about the situation and the truth is we both agreed that the Wincos is an infrared absorbing window film. We also discussed that no where online can you find where the manufacturer says that the Wincos is a nano ceramic window film.  Now of course the reason why I have this film labeled as a nano ceramic window film is because I have literature and other printed materials from the manufacturer that says nano ceramic but the truth is I feel we should be able to direct the consumer in the direction of their website that backs up the literature we have at the shop. So of course you know what I have to do first thing Monday morning is 4CC04368-3600-4D9A-926F-3297C2DEE837.jpeg.45913b59033337b0d33cc3ce0844fa84.jpegE56AEC0E-FB7D-4008-A1A0-368A0113267D.jpeg.158f39a0273972306c0f680eff3a0922.jpeg654F244A-C712-4CBA-AC2F-B2A763EAA80B.jpeg.35b1b5fa58bdf7ac9fd16ef0b907d989.jpegcontact the manufacturer and find out what the hell is going on. Now with that being said,  I drove to the shop and I found the new display board stickers that I received from Wincos and they actually say on them that this is a nano ceramic window film. I have attached a couple pictures for you to see and again like I said above if anyone has any questions do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you Diablo for the friendly message and also Dynamic  thank you for the nice words you wrote above. Tomorrow is Monday morning and it’s time for us all to make some money and take care of families. I hope everybody has a great week.

  6. Whats going on everyone, this is David Read, I am the owner at Signature Glass Tinting. No one is misleading customers. A few weeks ago I received an E-mail from an anonymous person that basically told me the same thing. I have a feeling that I know who it is but thats really not important. After I received the anonymous e-mail I picked up the phone and called both manufacturers. The Wincos according to the manufacturer is a Nano Ceramic window film and the newest, latest and greatest literature, display board stickers and marketing material from the manufacturer says 'NANO CERAMIC". I don't have the literature with me right now but our new display board stickers are sitting on my desk at the shop and again they say "NANO CERAMIC" window film. When I asked my sales rep about this I was told that YES, the Wincos is a Nano-Ceramic Window Film.

Now regarding the LLumar ATC, back in the day our web-site said that the LLumar ATC was the best deep dyed polyester window film on the market. We had some verbiage that the ATC was a 'CARBON STYLE"  window film. Its funny, carbon is a marketing word or a buzz word. Back in the day it was a Spanish word for charcoal but now a days we have new manufacturers taking the marketing buzz words to new levels and actually trade marketing terms that everyone uses. It might be a little bit sneaky but it's very smart, so good for them. Bottom line is that we took down the "carbon style" verbiage and we are still receiving anonymous e-mails and posts like this one.

If anyone has any questions about the Wincos, please simply give them a call, regarding the ATC I guess if you really are concerned about the Carbon misunderstanding try refreshing your history, cookies, cache etc. You will see that we do not use the words 'Carbon Style" any longer.
