Installing film without an SR coating.

Recommended Posts

I figured I'd put this here since I just ran into it with our own installers. (rookies :DD ) We've done some jobs in blackout recently. The blackout with no scratch resistent coating.

When installing the film always back roll it onto the glass. Instead of pulling the liner and trashing it, leave the liner on, reposition it properly and squeegee the window with the liner still on the window. It'll protect the film and keep the film from getting scratched up. Once the window is squeegeed out, trim it to size ( I trim it with the liner still on ), card what you need, then trash the liner.

It seems like a total common sense thing to me but since I recently amazed our 'experienced' installers with this I thought I'd mention it. :bat
