Gentlemen I believe we have gotten a little off the subject.First the silvery spots are not minute.Second I am not complaining about the job but my original question is whether it is worth trying to redo and take a chance.It seems that all your replies deal with the fact that there is not a perfect tint job and the majority of the jobs you do have some imperfections.That is fine and understandable but lets not be so sensitive like I am critizing your work.

whitish specks and you can feel them barley sounds like a small ball of soap under the film, no its not this I know the awnser now.

its the fact that the tinter put two little creases in your film when he was installing the film and even with heating them out there still going to resemble a silvery small line or silvery speck. and yes you probably can feel these with your finger nail, I hope this clears it all up for you.

the bottom line on subject is if you feel it bothers you take it back to the installer and see what he says and what he will do about it.

      help arquitectural in Puerto Rico heat

      Hi, new to the forum but a previous lurker. Was wondering if you guys had any suggestions on tints for a business in Puerto Rico who's windows face north (humidity 80% temp 70-100). Main concern is heat reduction though i would like for it to not be super dark since it is a work area. Have not contacted installers yet since I wanted to have some knowledge about products and specs beforehand to make sure im getting what i need. Thank you! From what i've gathered i should look out for: dual reflective film and low absorptive/high solar reflection products used this topic among others for research: "should be a go-to such as: 3M's Night Vision15 or NV25, Vista Film's Dual Reflective18 or DR 28, LLumar's DR15 or DR25 (which closely matches 3M NV), or Madico's Optivision in and around the same number assignment. The numbers assigned to films represent the visible light transmission of the product." "The higher the reflectivity of a film product, the better when dealing with desert heat."

      It looks like the end of the roll was used which has adhesive marks from being attached to the plastic core. You can't use the very end of the film roll.

      South facing windows DR film

      Install went great. I went with NV-25, I am very happy. The room has been darkened significantly, from bright and hot to much more pleasant and enjoyable. Watching TV during the day is no longer blinding, when it is cloudy it is definitely a bit gloomy, I am glad I did not go with NV-15. I plan on getting more windows done in the future to help cut down on heat energy. Thanks for everyone's input!
