just a question cause we do alot of A8's here but how in the world do u get the headrests out with out taking the back deck out....seems to me its impossible...feedback needed

Well, its not the easiest thing in the world, but they actually come out just by pulling! You need a little strength, but after you do it once they come out easier. Putting them back takes some technique, but you'll get it!!

ah...so it's like the BMW headrests. The ones you need to pull with all your might to get out sometimes...pulling muscles of all sorts you didn't know you had in your arms and shoulders!

I tint many of these cars, I just take out the headrests and leave the deck in. There are squeegys that can fit in the area at the bottom of the glass.

please tell me how you removed the headrests, and are we talking about the 08 A8? I tried to lift the head rests out but they stopped at the top of the windshield and the seats did not fold down, so how did you do it?

I too have had problems with the 08 A8. Yesterday we did one for the local Audi dealer. When pulling up and out on the headrests, my apprentice - who usually does excellent work - broke one of the plastic collars the posts slide into down in the seat. We stopped trying to remove the other headrest. Tinted the rear window and put it back together and sent it on it's way. Next time we will be VERY careful when trying to remove them. But let me tell you, THEY SUCK!
