Auto window tint claims/performance question
Thank you for the explanation gentlemen. I definitely learned something new today. As a average consumer, say you pay for a specific type/brand of tint but after you get the car back, how does one knows that tint on the car is what you asked for? Thank you again. -

How long the shop has been around helps but the work they do is more telling. There are shops I know that have been "around" longer than I have but I was killing them in quality from the start. Here I am 24 years in. Go look at the work they do. -

So you aren't measuring IR but a generic "solar heat". I've got the old analog btu meter and it was a cool tool but I don't use it and have not for probably 20 years. You are way overthinking this.- 1

Hey guys, correct if I'm wrong but isn't " V-Kool " a gimmick film. Apparently something about it reflects IR instead of absorbing it ?? Any knowledge on this film? -

How -tough- is the scratch coat
On a SUV, when u have it loaded up, and you know when something/somethings will touch the back glass (if tinted), I often throw a mover towels ontop as I have definately replaced rear tint in this due to it getting scratched.... Which got me thinking or over -thinking. Movers towel while not hard is not exactly soft... Do I need to throw a *soft* microfiber towel on it so if it rubs against the back glass, it won't scratch the tint. -

What is the best value plotter to cut PPF and window tints?
I just purchased a warehouse to open up a wrap shop to apply PPFs, window tints, and vinyl wraps to customer vehicles. What is the best value plotter to get? I want something that will be reliable, has a really good software that is easy to use and saves film, and something that would break the bank. Ive heard of brands like the Workhorse 2, Graphtec fc9000, and Jaguar V LX 72". What do you guys recommend?! Thank you so much for the help! -

Help me pick window tint!
Hi everyone, I need help picking the best window tint for my car. I want to get a ceramic film and have gotten few quotes. Now while comparing them it got me confused. Here are my options listed from most to least expensive. Xpel XR Autobahn Black Ceramic Llumar CTX or 3M Ceramic IR I am looking for perfomance and longevity. -

Xpel shop has been around for more than 15yrs Llumar and Autobahn one around 4 3m probably around 15+ too. But there was one review questioning the authenticity of film. So staying away from it. So probably out of Xpel, Llumar ans Autobahn -

High dollar quotes may be representative of; 1) high overhead costs or 2) wanting to stand out in a crowded field through a price illusion of having the best. Most all 'ceramic' films in the industry come within 5 or so percentage points of each other in terms of TSER. The amount of difference is trivial in comparison to overall performance, while occupying the car. Write each one down on a small piece of paper, put them in a bowl, and blindly pick one. Then, get an idea of what their workmanship looks like by visiting their shop, what the product might look like on your vehicle, and what might be their service history rating from online apps. Workmanship outweighs all other factors. I cannot pick for 'you'.
