newbie stuggling on rear window

I struggled today with a rear window on a Nissan Nivara Pick-Up.

This a a vehicle I have not done before and being new to the tinting game, I struggled. The window did'nt need any shrinking but I struggled becaues when I cut the film to the edge of the window seal, when I came to reinstall the film with the reverse roll method, I found that the film was slightly to large. The inside window seal is slightly smaller than the outside.

Do any of you guys ever cut the film on the inside of the glass rather than the outside.

Also, does anybody have any tips regarding cutting around heated rear window connectors??

I cut all those hard plastic sliders on the inside, I cut it somewhat the size on the outside so I dont have a bunch of tint getting all bunched up, works good, been doing it this way since I started. if they haver matrix I cut them on the outside

cut sliders on the inside, leave the bottom a hair big and trim it back
