Poor glass or maybe a bad batch of film that is absorbing too much.

back about 2003 I had a job with similar windows, was facing due west. was in janurary. was installing Solarguard slate 30 panaroma. was on the third window when I noticed the first one that was put up was getting way WAY to HOT. like too hot to touch nearly. Was then that I said to my installer, " hey this window is getting way to hot." about that time I hear sound like creaaaak, POW! big crack starting from right hand side about 8 inches from the bottom and running up towards the middle of the window. I immediately ripped down all that had been done. Turned out that this dual reflective film had been built with shiny side in. Sg did make it right but not without some out of pocket expense.
