I tint them all the time, but only with silver or true metalized tint, never used or will use black tint for a sunroof!

:twocents

the reason for using s20 is due to its low sa .high sa 's is what make the glass pop :spit

did three sunroofs this weekend and they all had factory smoke to them already. I added p/p20% and customer loves it, looks black from the outside and mirror on the inside. 30.oo per

Done them regularly with a fully reflective reverse facing silver/grey combo.

A roof can explode if it has a nickle sulphide inclusion.

Look it up on the net.

Before anyone says anything...yes I know it is an old thread  :zombie  lol.

Any updates on tinting laminated glass in sunroofs?

Ive got a new Forester in the workshop that wants the sunroof tinted.

Dev, I sometimes use SG reverse grey20 for these too, is that the film you were referring to in the above post?

I use AIR Blue 80 as an upsell on sunroofs. Enjoy the sun (that's what it's there for), less heat and more UV protection. You can pretty much only sell it at time of tinting the car (point of purchase) Most custys don't come back if they go home to think about it. Kinda like Scotchguarding furniture. You get it done when you but the couch and tack it on the price. You don't wake up one morning a year later and decide today it a good day to do that :lol
