the whale wiener is significant. Leo is real as it gets. he needs a shirt that says " I am huge in russia". But I think the :rock emoticon should be retired under his log in. the only thing that would make it appropriate would be if it had one of those fury russian snow hats on you see in the movies. none the less

vclimber why dont you fill us in on what the a and the s are for. I mean, you know more about the whos who on the west coast in tint. I can tell you everything from florida to mid west, all of NM and most of AZ, but I have learned more about the west coast names via your post then I have in my whole 15 year career. I am curious? I say this with all the respect in the world. Please dont take it as me being sideways with ya.

Doesn't have much to do with who I know. Leo told me in private a while back so I have to assume that if he did not come out and say it then he must want it kept private and I gotta respect that. The only reason I said as much as I did is because the thread was heading for a serious misunderstanding about Leo. Hope you can understand my position, I would do the same thing for just about any member that told me something in confidence. I would recommend pm'ing Leo and maybe he will tell you.

totally understandable, it was deff heading that way. I love leo on here, and mainly cuz his post make no scence do to emoticons and lack of grammar!!! I just took what he said and repeated it in my own understanding. Ill hit him up on it. I am dying to know. That Narbet dude or what ever his name was had some wild story to how they made film, or lack there of. Any how.

I HAVE ALSO TRIED THE FILM. THE CLAIRITY IS AMAZING. THE HEAT SHRINKING IS AWESOME AND THERE GROWING QUICKLY WITH ALL THE NEW PRODUCTS THEY HAVE MADE IN THE LAST 2 MONTHS. NO OTHER MANUFACTERUER OUT THERE SEEMS TO HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY THAT ASWF HAS. NOT ONLY DO THEY HAVE A GREAT PRODUCT BUT THEY HAVE WONDERFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. THEY HAVE ALSO JUST COME OUT WITH A CHARCOAL THAT I TRIED AND I REALLY LIKE. IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A NEW COMPANY I HIGHLY RECCOMEND TRYING ASWF.

Seriously, It shrinks no different than any other film that is getting there polyester from XXXX dealer. I tested it and it shrinks in the same heat range as other similar mil and constructed films such as Suntek Llumar and SolarGard.

Its no clearer than any CP product. As for technology.....there not even producing film. Ask em, they will tell you, there adding a coating and respooling. Technology is in the MFG, PET chips/Extrusion, IR coatings ECT.

If your just a tinter, or own a tint shop and read and listen to what the reps are saying with out really knowing film, then I would steer away from the technology talk.

Now as for there customer service, everyone I met there was super nice, quick to send samples ECT. I think I read you were a Llumar dealer. I hope your rep finds out and starts renegotiating your price break. Many films out there. Only a few have stood the test of time. I got more faith in the new SunGaurd then ASWF.

First let me tell you Iam sorry for the misspelling of SunGard, sometimes my internal spell checker kicks in. Second, if you read up a lil higher I actually spelled out ASWF for Leo. Last but not least Blade is the GN, I dont even try to fight on that one. Your on a tough board. Watch what you say or youll have some photoshopped pics of you tinting with a hotel key card on a donkey in south america somewhere!!! lol

I had a ASWF rep stop in last week looking kind of grungy and when I ask her what she had for legal film in Oregon she said a 35% film.................. Oregon law says 50% film with a film and glass combined VLT of 35%. Need to train their reps better and hose um down with some water before putting them on the plane. not really good to have a rep that don't know the law. :embar

      Automotive Tint Comparison

      1) Why avoid Suntek? I thought they resolved that issued with the easy scratching and that they are one of the market leaders in Australia? Also, it seems most of the well established Tint businesses use Suntek 2) I've heard mixed things about Rayno, with some installers raving about it and others disparaging it. Makes it difficult for the consumer to know the truth, given vested interests exist. 3) Is Ultragard a Australian exclusive product? The IP seems to be owned by GTS FILMS PTY LTD. How's the quality as it seems to have limited installers. 4) Is the MEP Films CNP that apparently are Manufactured by LLumar of the same quality as the LLumar tints (such as Llumar Formula One Stratos; Llumar Formula One Pinnacle; Llumar CTX)? 5)

      Cracked glass

      The crack indicates thermal stress, however, the edge of the glass may have an imperfection (bur or clam shell chip). The crack does run 90 degrees out from the edge and curves as it follows any weaknesses in the pane itself. I have attached a pictured of what tempered glass looks like when it breaks and alongside it what a plate (or float) and heat-strengthened glass looks like when it breaks. The outer panel my be tempered should indicate so by a stamp etched on the glass surface in one corner. It should indicate tempered. Plate glass has no indicators, however, heat-strengthened glass will crack in the same manner as plate glass. I'm an unsure whether heat-strengthened glass requires a stamp. Tempered glass is 4 times stronger than plate and heat-strengthened is 2 times stronger than plate. 1 in 24 is indicative of edge imperfection. I could not find the solar absorption rate of DN 50, but if it is similar to competitive films, there should be no issue with that installation setting (including a straight line shadow). This, too, points back to edge imperfection as the cause. And finally, I spy drapes in a close position, correct? If so, it would be helpful to crack open during sun exposure; this to assist in allowing trapped heat between the glass and drapes to dissipate.

      Cracked glass

      Hello. I recently installed Johnson Daylight Natural DN 50 on a couple of windows. Solar energy rejection is 39%. The windows are double pane and the glass is supposed to be tempered 4mm + tempered 6mm. The roof overhang shades the top 1/3 - 1/2 of the windows. However, a few days after installation I noticed that one of the glass has cracked, presumably due to thermal stress. Should I remove the film from the rest of the windows? I installed the film on 24 of these windows (6 tiny houses) so now 1 out of 24 is broken. Or is it more likely that I just got unlucky and the glass had a defect? Is shading from the roof overhang such a big factor? The glass cracked. Is it really tempered? I thought tempered glass would shatter, but not crack. Thanks!

      Residential Film without blue hue?

      Take a look at 3M's Nightvision or LLumar's Dual Reflective series, they both have a warm tone to them.

      Steer clear of Black Armour, Suntek, ASWF. The others are good choices if you are in Australia. Check out the reviews of the installer too. It’s not just the materials that have to be proper. Never go for the cheapest!!!

      Residential Film without blue hue?

      Hey guys I am in the process of having window film installed in my home but have a question about which brand I should go with. Hoping yall can help me out. I have a room that faces a busy street and as a result my blinds pretty much always stay closed. I love having natural daylight but not so much people being able to see what i'm doing in my room/all my expensive equipment. I used to work in the window film industry as a helper/installer/salesman when I was in highschool and we did a lot residential/commercial work. The specific brand of film we used always left a certain blue and cool appearance. Is there any brand of residential film that does not have this effect? I mainly just cannot stand having blue light amplified and am looking for a film that has a neutral shade to it or even a warm/yellow hue. I have single pane windows and I do not necessarily care about heat rejection but if I have to pay more for a ceramic film rather than a dual reflective or a standard film I am willing to if that helps solve the issue. Again, any help is really appreciated with this there are so many new window film brands out there and it really is cool to see how far the industry has come.
