Window Pattern Cutting Method

Recommended Posts

FYI...This is for front and rear door rollups only.

Just curious how you hand-cutters are cutting your window patterns out because I either cut mine an 1/8" to big or too small on the sides....

My process is to make slit at the top and bottom of both left and right sides of window, then bottom...Then I roll down the window 1/2" and cut the top edge. Then when I go to put the tint on, either it is a hair too short on one side or a hair too long which results in a space where I can not push the water out and or it would end up creasing/crinkling upon rolling down the window.

Is there a better way of doing this from the get go, or is this just something that comes with practice?
