Pay buy card get paid in cash :thumb.

Eventually cash will be phased out.

Eventually there will only be one currency, like the Euro.

I could see this happening.

It is what they want to do in Europe. Except the Euro currency has all but collapsed. The clever countries who stayed out are laughing

Eventually though, not many things that big work on the first attempt.

Nope

But it will happen. Maybe not in our lifetime but soon.

I disagree. Cash will always be king. Credit ratings and cash are never in the same basket. Look at Walmart, Harley Davidson, and Sysco. They all operate on cash and are multi billion dollar companies without a penny in debt.

When you have an account that can cover your expenses, you are self sufficient.

The point is that the amount of cash (notes and coins) they take is very small. It is also awkward and expensive for them to process.

Big business do not like cash they prefer card payments.

Nobody has ever robbed a security van full of credit card payments but plenty full of £ notes or $ bills have.
