DIY Film Handler/Dispenser

Recommended Posts

I got tired of having all of my film boxes stacked at the end of my table and having to swap the box I need from the bottom of the stack to the top. Then having to pull my film across my table which is narrower than my film.

So I decided to build a dispenser. It holds 4 rolls of film. I built it so that even the lowest roll will let out 60in of film, more than enough to do a back glass. It holds my 50% not that anyone wants 50% on a back glass

I used 1in PVC for the rods and to hold the rods I used closet rod holders from Lowes (pic of of package below)

I had all the wood so my total cost was under $10

There are a few improvements that I want to make like adding straight edges to make straight cuts and a couple other things I have in mind.

That looks good, you could get the same result by making it more steep to save space.

Here are mine:

Thanks. I like yours. It looks cool with all of them lined up. You have a ton of film.

I wanted to keep my wall space clear. I may put some shallow shelving on the wall below it to hold things.

My bottom line of film is about 5ft off the ground.

You did a good Job on yours.

Dang! Way to steal his thunder! LOL!!

Great idea. I need to make a vinyl rack. I keep knocking them over and damaging the vinyl. I just havent had time to make one. Y'alls design looks easy and cheap. Maybe I'll do the same.
