87 corvette

I have a customer that has an 87 vette with some purple a$$ tint on the rear. He wants it redone. Im still pondering if I wanna tackle this project since I've never done a vette . Is there any suggestions on how to shrink the rear plus im5% not sure how much I. should charge him. Thanks in advance for any help

Vetts of the era are not difficult. I imagine the biggest problem would be the door gaskets may be dry and brittle.

Even if the door gaskets are hard and brittle, they hardly touch the glass. Those windows are quite floppy but give him the option if they are or at least a heads up on possible damage (scratches) to the film. The back glass is very similar to a 4th gen Camaro in that it requires very little shrinking. It's pretty much a "stretch" on the sides. the worst part of the job is the hatch and removing the hatch strut mounts. If you want a proper install and a clean look it's a must and it sucks!

Ya I noticed the struts when I was looking at it. Any easy trick to get them off? Im not worried about the sides that's cake. Just worried about the big ol rear and the pain of taking the old stuff off.

Unplug the defroster. Then pull the clip on the strut and pull it off. There is a phillips screw that will release the mounts. Simple once you see it.
