Match Decorative Film

Recommended Posts

Any frosted type of films are hard match from just a pic as you have said, the only real way to get an exact match is to install even just a small piece of film if you have an idea of the film it is, or a few different films to get a match, I can usually tell what film it is just by looking at it and feeling it but I have been installing decorative films for a very long time.

Now as far as looking at a installed frosted film the look of it will depend on the type of glass it is installed on and the film will look different on lets say a clear glass that has very low iron verses a more of a green looking glass, see pic bellow and in this pic the film used was 3M Fasara SH2MAMM and it is a rather easy film to tell what it is even when installed, my point is that just holding a sample of film next to a window that already has a frost film installed or just looking at a pic it is hard to match with out installing another film next to it on that same glass or close to it.

could it be llumars NRM PS2? kind of what it sounds like to me

Could be if it was an older install, a few years back that film had a few runs that looked very blotchy.

Agree it's tough to match without installing a little sample. It's not NRMPS2 since I'm familiar with that and this has a more sandblasted look even though it doesn't feel sandblasted when you touch it.

My best guess is an Avery Etchmark or a Gregory Trend film is what is there, or will pretty closely match what is there. Getting samples for the architect to make a decision.
