Madico and sun Gard question

Recommended Posts

I still personally cringe at the name Sungard and cannot believe why this dreadful company and it's sh***y film that before the takeover failed all over the world was still left to be reincarnated.

If my understanding is correct, while more Madico products are now made in the former FTI (Sungard) facility, Madico is still perceived to be better.

color stable extruded polyester from Mitsubishi. You may wish to check with your local distributor.

Hi Fat Cat,

All polyester films are extruded (you probably know this already).  You might be referring to dyed-chip extruded, whereby the color is impregnated into the chips and then extruded directly into dyed film.  The alternative process is to extrude the films as clear polyester and then put them into the deep-dip-dye bath.

It is the second process (deep-dip) that remains the "Gold Standard".  Films with proven longevity records (Llumar/Global) use this process.

Regards,

Howard
