Eastman buy out of CLC.. What does it mean down under?

Recommended Posts

Hey all,

I can see 2 scenario's...

1. MEP take on the rights to distribute SunTek in Aus and NZ.

2. Eastman take a more factory direct approach and setup all Eastman owned brands under 1 roof.

My mail is on number 2.

If so, MEP will be left with Madico and SunGard.

And the Castle Hill warehouse (which is now an Eastman asset) will distribute Llumar, SunTek, Vcool, Enerlogic, Huber Optik, Vista, etc..)

If nothing changes, then Eastman's 2 major brands will be competing directly with each other here in Aus.

Very unlikely.

Interesting times ahead for those who have a stake in these brands..

Factory direct seems the more plausible outcome.

This seems to be the preferred business model at the moment world wide and should be for some time yet with the squeeze on margins by intense competition the likes of which we have never really seen before.

Maybe a little Birdie might be dusting off his feathers.

Interesting times ahead indeed.
