Scratch coat yes, but talking about it removing the color of the film.

The Crystalline/Prestige film is composed of 260 micro layers, not really much room for a designated scratch coat, I thing they might refer to it as a smudge coat like what they did with the new generation Enerlogic film. :dunno

Yikes, didn't know it will be difficult to maintain. No more young children so that will be one less worry. I will have to find out the best (safest) way to clean them. Thanks for the heads up!

Relax, they've had time to improve the bond of their colored scratch coat to the point it's more difficult to remove than what is seen in the video. It does not improve robustness to the point of not scratching deep enough to create clear.

 

Also, it (colored scratch coat) is a technology not limited to 3M products as many newer name film producers use it in various products found on the market today.

 

And the unbelievable number of layers that make up Crystalline/Prestige products would be more on the nanometer scale. Nano technology is the new age of performance structure in film.
