Ultima GTR

Recommended Posts

Hi guys. Been asked to tint windshield and doors on a Ultima GTR, rare kit car. Haven't seen one in real life, and I won't see the car before it arrives the 17th this month.

1. How would tackle the windshield on this car? (glass windshield)

2: The door windows are polycarbonat, is it possible to tint over?

The white one is the actual car, the red I found on the internet(bigger picture.)

Who knows?? That windshield may be easier than you think. :dunno

I DO KNOW that if you tint that polycarbonate and the tint cures,,,, it is done at that point. There is no remove and replace after tint cures on that type of window. :thumb

As Bham said, the windshield could be not as bad as it looks.

From what it appears, it's somewhat small which will help.

I would just leave the film untrimmed so you have plenty of excess to pull and stretch if necessary. That way the film won't be limited to the minimal surface area that's provided as it makes the curve.

"Plastic windows"=lexan, plexiglass or whatever they call it/the knife can/will scratch it,so remember that

And there is a special tint film made for plastic windows,,not sure what it is or called,,never used it yet

Thanks for the feedback. We have agreed on give it a go on the windshield and let the sidewindows be. It is only a trackcar, not a car being used on the road.

I'll come back with an update when the car has arrived  :thumb
