Tracking rolls of film

Recommended Posts

I have seen several times on here where someone might get a bad run of film. Or have a few warranty jobs come back and find out they were from the same run # or manufactured at the same time. That way they can confirm with their supplier if it was a bad batch or not.

Is there some sort of number on your box or inside you keep record of in case if this situation ever happened? I have been using Legacy Films as a start and will be switching over to EWF within the next two weeks as my first serious investment of film. I haven't seen anything on my Legacy boxes that would be any number i would need to keep track of. I ask because I would like to make a log and keep track of what rolls are used on what jobs.

The films I have used in the past, suntek, llumar, madico... johnsons, a few others...they have always put the roll or lot numbers on the label that is on the end flap of the box. Usually has the film info - film type, size of the roll, and lot/run #.

Ok, because the outside tag on mine have all the same numbers on them. They were purchased at different times so I can't assume they would all be the same. I will check inside the core as well maybe snap a pic and post it if I don't figure it out.

Was kind of hard to get picture. But both boxes shown were purchased at the same time. The two numbers at the bottom of the box are the only ones on there. One is the lot number and the other is the roll number im guessing? The only other box I had was from a sample roll and it didn't have anything on it.

Well there's your problem using some unknown film :lol

I know :rollinIt made for a good starter film though, easy to work with. Didn't go on anything to important. Excited to step up to good quality film though :)
