  1. I own my own building and i'm actually about to build a larger shop in the same property.  It's on the same 6 acres I live on.  No transit plates.  Customer drops car off and I only drive it in and out of the shop never on the road.  My property has a gate opener and is fully fenced so when cars are left here they are basically in a compound with cameras.

  2. Who has insurance and how much does it cost and how much coverage? Just accidentally burned a customer's headliner on a brand new challenger on accident with the edge of my heat gun and having to pay to replace it. It's a few hundred bucks to replace. Just glad it didn't happen on a much nicer car that would cost a lot more to replace. This taught me I definitely need insurance for mishaps like this.

  3. Man I feel like you need to take a breath bro. First, ask yourself is this what you really want to do? Everyone always says do what you love. Or do what you love and you will never work a day in your life.

There is always going to be challenges when encountering new vehicles and if this is what you want to do you need to accept that and be ready to take it on and learn. Rome wasn't built in a day as they say so learning the techniques to tint all makes and models takes time. Take a breath and try to practice patience as patience is virtue my friend.

I took a factory ring training class myself. Some great advice a trainer gave me is "It doesn't matter if it's a Honda or a Lamborghini you are just putting film on glass". In other words dont let the fancy expensive brands intimidate you bro. You are tinting glass. Just tint the glass regardless of the vehicle and you will be good.

And as far as going in I would just go in and do the best you possibly can. Be the better person and blow their minds. After that you can get your check and roll out if you want. You dont want to ruin you reputation in the industry because it's always a much smaller world than you think.

  4. Got my first Model X windshield in this morning. Film is Xpel Ceramic 80%. Got the 1 piece shrink on the first attempt. Now lets pray it installs well. Thinking of reverse roll from the bottom up. Not sure yet.

Did you remove the mirror and if so how do you do it?
  5. Well I got it done today!  Overall very easy car.  Back glass is very difficult to access the bottom half to squeegee out water.  Normally I always reverse roll but with this car for me it was actually easier to Frankenstein it since the back glass is so small.  I used the titan red and grey tool and I could reach where I needed to but felt I couldn't get the pressure on the film i wanted to really press the water out.  Also wanted to note I hate these frameless windows that roll down about 3/4" or so when you open them.  Kept having a few small fingers pop up on drivers side because of this.  I don't pull seals and I did shrink the front windows.
