  1. That's a bunch of sq ft. Do you print/laminate in house?
  2. Get an 18" channel squeegee from home depot to hang near it. Makes sweeping it clean before you use it each time fast and easy.
  3. Yes. I've worked off of smaller or sometimes no glass at all in some mobile situations.
  4. I like to keep a board a little wider than the film roll. My main glass that I cut patterns from is 45x78 (sliding glass door minus the frame). I like to mount the main board vertical. Glass on the other side can be whatever fits your space. I used to use a rolling frame but it's a pain to keep moving around. Always worried about it falling or breaking while moving it.
  5. A local glass shop might have a miss order or something scratched that they cant sell out of inventory. Good people to meet anyway if you're in the tint biz.
  6. Tempered glass only around here. Plate glass if effing dangerous. You might be able to find an old sliding glass door for free somewhere. I find a few every year getting tossed out.
  7. Thanks TD! Not bad for a guy that only made it out of high school because I told em I'd be back next year.
  8. Sometimes I'll flash the glass with heat to burn off any moisture and dry out the surface before laying the film out to shrink.
  9. Design, cut, wrap and tint. 3m Gloss Liquid Copper over factory black paint. Global HP30 on the front. Had to hold back on posting until today. It's being released and displayed at the GoPro Games this weekend.
  10. If you use Illustrator or Corel you can make your own patterns for vehicles that you see often. I couldn't justify the ransom anymore after tossing illfitting film and fixing the patterns using the crappy software ux. After using a real art program the "software" feels like a speak-n-spell from the 80s.
  11. I spray glass cleaner (sprayaway) into the gasket and jam a triangle wedge into the seal, cut the pattern as mentioned above and lay it last after the seal has relaxed. I might try the wire technique tho just to try out something new.
  12. Felony theft of services. Call the economic crimes officer or local DA and file a charge.
  13. @pbalentine ever have someone roll down their window just to ask how long before they can down the windows?
  14. Yes, the water will dry out. Give it about 4/5 days in the sun then reinspect.
  15. That would never leave my shop. The cuts and gaps are ridiculous.
  16. Not judging btw, I get one myself every few years.
  17. It will be stated on your ticket after the local LEO puts a meter on it.
  18. That's pretty sloppy. Limp wrist squeegee effort from slamming it on quick and running through the schedule. Alignment on the edge is unacceptable as well. We've all made that same mistake at some point. It's a sign that it's time to slow down and get back to better practices. A good shop will replace and apologize for the inconvenience.
  19. Couple from the weekend. Ceramic w/ visor strip. I don't miss doing these qtrs on the regular. Full ceramic w/ windshield, 18" H-F-HL. Had a few other door sets but nothing too special. Full wrap coming at the end of the week.
  20. Meter it yourself...with an actual meter. No cop is ever going to issue a ticket for what you are describing. My experience is you only get fined if you're an arse or your being let out of something more serious. In the rare chance that it happens, challenge the meter used (is it certified/by whom) and any certs/training used to operate it. It's been hot down there since forever. Unless you're rolling gangzstar dark film, nobody cares.
  21. Rivian. Weighs about as much as a diesel at 8,000lbs. Build/paint quality was pretty good.
  22. Just finished this one. Full front end + edges and door thresholds. Ceramic doors and hand wax.
