3M's frosted crystal

Recommended Posts

Do you guys find that this film is a 2 person application especially on sheets as big as 5' X 4'?

It don't want to go on like white translucent films.

I've got 33 sq. mtrs to fit up and I'm not thrilled to the back teeth with the thought of it.

Any thoughts appreciated.

We would not attempt one man installs with Frosted Crystal (or Dusted Crystal) to windows that large. The liner is definitely trickier to remove than on standard films. And if while you are removing the liner two dry portions of the film touch each other then you're up you know what creek.

We always use 2 guys when applying this stuff. It's a hastle to deal with this film with just one guy and it is so expensive you can't afford to screw it up.

you can do it ... if you have to. I just did 5 panels 48 x 72 ,horizontal for a conference room (I did scrap one smaller piece :spit )

spray the glass next to the one you are working on if there is room , or 2 over , then place the film ,liner facing you on the wet glass. carefully start pulling liner while spraying exposed film ,pulling at a slight angle like any vinyl.go slow and you wont have a problem. when the film is wet , wet it some more cause it can still stick to itself .

then carefully move it to the window and apply . if you think its painfull to scrap a piece of dust/crystal try it on signal defense film ,it'll make you lose your lunch

good luck with it ,let us know how it turns out.
