I used to use this file from rs components and I havent found one better.

rswww.com

Magneto file 146mm L

RS stock no: 549-549

Part no: 14001

my tinters leave a very thin gap at the top by moving the film down a fraction on install. saves time and a good fit looks just as professional.

whats the best way for most of you to tint right to the top edge of the glass, shave with a knife, orr nail file the top, or is there any other way?

Make a good, accurate cut and run it up to the edge. Shave if nescessary. :thumb Hope this helps. Shaving is becoming a pain, 'cuz the last several boxes of olfa blades I've gotten have been REALLY CRAPPY! I can generally make a good cut, and the window looks like it was shaved. :lol2:lol2

Is it a bug?

I scoot my film up to the edge. You have to look real close to see that is a fraction away from the edge.

But when I did shave my tint I always did it with my olfa blade extended.

I dont get the whole file thing.... :thumb I use my blade.

most people that ask this are expecting 1/2" gaps. show him your past work and see if that's acceptable before going to town trying to do what you think he wants.
