Yep, got's me a new job. More money AND... I'm actually good at it. :lol I will miss some aspects, as my boss is also one of my best friends and also (and more importantly) a brother in Christ, and we have had some good fun at the shop. :sad It was just not a good fit with the way that things worked out logisticly over time, and I just don't have the confidence in myself that I can help make the auto-side of the company any real money. :lol

If there is any gauge as to the reason why I shouldn't be in this line of work, it would be that the thing I will miss most about this job will be this site. :lol2:lol2 I can say that TD.com and many of the members have been-absolutely, unequivocally, and without a doubt-the greatest help and asset to me in my time as an auto tech, :lol2 And for that I am most grateful. :lol2

If there is one thing that I am sure of however, it is that, when my job there is done, I know that I have certainly not laid my last piece of film. :beer Thanks to all who have, either directly or indirectly, helped me with this job, and I hope that you all wouldn't mind if I come in and poke around every now and again when I'm done. :lol2:beer:lol:lol2

Married 2 weeks and momma already put her foot down and told you to get a real job :lol2:lol2

Oh hell naw, especially not in LA I hopes.

A friend got a DUI in the wrong part of LA, ended up in the compton jail... she said it was a tough few hours.

Thanks. I'm taking a job with the company that I am working for part time. I will be an assistnt produce manager for a grocery store. I know...super glamerous. But guranteed hours and better pay. :lol2

Well I am very happy for you to have found a job that you will like. With that being said.... once a tinter ALWAYS a tinter!!!

      Steer clear of Black Armour, Suntek, ASWF. The others are good choices if you are in Australia. Check out the reviews of the installer too. It’s not just the materials that have to be proper. Never go for the cheapest!!!

      Residential Film without blue hue?

      Hey guys I am in the process of having window film installed in my home but have a question about which brand I should go with. Hoping yall can help me out. I have a room that faces a busy street and as a result my blinds pretty much always stay closed. I love having natural daylight but not so much people being able to see what i'm doing in my room/all my expensive equipment. I used to work in the window film industry as a helper/installer/salesman when I was in highschool and we did a lot residential/commercial work. The specific brand of film we used always left a certain blue and cool appearance. Is there any brand of residential film that does not have this effect? I mainly just cannot stand having blue light amplified and am looking for a film that has a neutral shade to it or even a warm/yellow hue. I have single pane windows and I do not necessarily care about heat rejection but if I have to pay more for a ceramic film rather than a dual reflective or a standard film I am willing to if that helps solve the issue. Again, any help is really appreciated with this there are so many new window film brands out there and it really is cool to see how far the industry has come.

      Automotive Tint Comparison

      LLumar, 3M and Solargard have in the industry as far back as the genesis of window film mid-1960's). Solargard is the younger of the three and all others came to play in the last 20 or so years. I've had all three on my vehicles over the years and my current is 3M Crystalline on my Jeep since 2015. It still has stable color, scratch coat is holding strong and impeccable adhesive clarity. Never been garaged. My choice toady would be 3M or LLumar.

      Hook up with Glassy Business and get all the ins and outs of pro vs DIY with window film. That company goes back way before my retirement in 2015. I want to believe they are/were a Vista Film dealer and I cannot remember the owner's name. Peace out.

      Once more thank you, you are the best I been looking at the specs for the products you mention and info into tinting a window. I recently did wrap my wife's car and it turn out really nice, for what I have been seeing tinting a window is similar and I am tempted to do it myself. With that said I can't find any place to buy the products you mention, I found quite a few films in Amazon but they seem sketchy. There is other web sites selling films but the ones you mention I can’t locate, anyhow is there any place where I can buy this products?

      Forgot to mention; if your house is under HOA, you may have to check in with them. Some, eh hem, many seemingly shy away from having a reflective look to the glass. A dual reflective with a visible light transmission of 35% (ex: NV35) would likely be more palatable to HOA, but not so happy for the owner. Your position to take with them is: The higher the reflectivity of a film product, the better when dealing with desert heat. There exists a necessary (physics) compromise in every window film transaction. Can't please all parties. Glad I could help educate.
