What difference does it make where someone is from when they post? Please explain.

why would I want to give away my tips and tricks out for free to others or my competition, you know..ones that I have found out on my own in my many years of tinting..I havent been in this business for over 19 years and build up my skills and tricks , trade secrets, for some internet diyer to come on here and learn off my knowledge I have received from hands on working this business for all these years..some ppl dont mine..I do. :spit

So then why post here?

because I can.

why not post where you are from?...and who you are.?...because you dont have to.

One member suggested that TD make location mandatory and that was my point.

Maybe the more important bit of info to post is the reason we come here? To share info, to harvest info, hijack threads, to start :spit with others... :spit

dallas here, well ft worth any way but not everyone knows where that is. I am right next to DFW airport.

and climber you still havent said where you are from, I know too but why even post in thise thread if not to say where you are from, makes you look suspicious (if thats how you spell it). its not a big deal you are just making it out to be. If you dont want to say where you are from then again, why post in this thread? not trying to be rude just curious. I see the whole thing about it being mandatory I dont think it should be, I think you are just trying to bump yer post count. :spit

      Residential Film without blue hue?

      Take a look at 3M's Nightvision or LLumar's Dual Reflective series, they both have a warm tone to them.

      Steer clear of Black Armour, Suntek, ASWF. The others are good choices if you are in Australia. Check out the reviews of the installer too. It’s not just the materials that have to be proper. Never go for the cheapest!!!

      Residential Film without blue hue?

      Hey guys I am in the process of having window film installed in my home but have a question about which brand I should go with. Hoping yall can help me out. I have a room that faces a busy street and as a result my blinds pretty much always stay closed. I love having natural daylight but not so much people being able to see what i'm doing in my room/all my expensive equipment. I used to work in the window film industry as a helper/installer/salesman when I was in highschool and we did a lot residential/commercial work. The specific brand of film we used always left a certain blue and cool appearance. Is there any brand of residential film that does not have this effect? I mainly just cannot stand having blue light amplified and am looking for a film that has a neutral shade to it or even a warm/yellow hue. I have single pane windows and I do not necessarily care about heat rejection but if I have to pay more for a ceramic film rather than a dual reflective or a standard film I am willing to if that helps solve the issue. Again, any help is really appreciated with this there are so many new window film brands out there and it really is cool to see how far the industry has come.

      Automotive Tint Comparison

      LLumar, 3M and Solargard have in the industry as far back as the genesis of window film mid-1960's). Solargard is the younger of the three and all others came to play in the last 20 or so years. I've had all three on my vehicles over the years and my current is 3M Crystalline on my Jeep since 2015. It still has stable color, scratch coat is holding strong and impeccable adhesive clarity. Never been garaged. My choice toady would be 3M or LLumar.

      Hook up with Glassy Business and get all the ins and outs of pro vs DIY with window film. That company goes back way before my retirement in 2015. I want to believe they are/were a Vista Film dealer and I cannot remember the owner's name. Peace out.

      Once more thank you, you are the best I been looking at the specs for the products you mention and info into tinting a window. I recently did wrap my wife's car and it turn out really nice, for what I have been seeing tinting a window is similar and I am tempted to do it myself. With that said I can't find any place to buy the products you mention, I found quite a few films in Amazon but they seem sketchy. There is other web sites selling films but the ones you mention I can’t locate, anyhow is there any place where I can buy this products?
