Workplace shooting......8 dead, one critical

Our local Bud distributor, who I dealt with for many year when I owned Liquor stores, had a tragedy today. A driver, who was asked to resign because he was stealing beer, went on a calm, coldblooded killing spree as he was being escorted from the building. When it was over, 8 were dead, 2 more shot, with one in critical condition. This was a good friend of our family. He had retired a number of years ago, having sold his store, and was working for them as a merchandiser. The company had video of the killer stealing beer. Now, his family are going on the attack, claiming he was racially abused at work, telling the news media that he reported it but nothing was done. His union shows no reports of this, nor does the company. It is unfortunate that this is being used as an excuse for him killing (MURDERING) and injuring these people. As one person wrote on a TV stations blog..'It is sad that some good people lost their lives in this tragedy......but thank you to the murderer for taking his own life and saving us the cost, both emotionally and financially, of a trial.... '. This was premeditated, since he carried the gun in his lunch bag into the meeting, where he resigned. This makes him, not a victim, but a murdered, plain and simple..........

Had one of those here the beginning of July. I will say these events really will cause people to shift their opinions on gun legislation, and it sucks. While I don't own a gun, and have no desire to, I really think it is bad that a few of these types of events will cause people to think we need to take guns out of the hands of law abiding citizens. If someone needs a gun to do something bad, they will get it.

I heard something about it but have not heard a lot of details since my radio is dead right now. It was up in Manchester, CT right?? I have been through there a lot since I used to work for AMR out of West Hartford and also American Amb out of Norwich. Isn't that where the lottery office is that had the shooting a few years back?? I seem to remember another workplace shooting up that way. it sux for legal gun owners like you said. Time to call my state rep to make sure they do not over react. Where is it you are from Custom??

Balz.......Yeah, in Manchester. Lot of good people we knew. The lottery office was in Newington. Thankfully the murderer is dead. I am in CT also.
