I did a 2008 5 series today, maybe due to the difference in year but the wood didn't come off, what I found was a T30 behind the airbag clip on the front doors, and a Philips screw near the front corner. Rear panels had the one Philips screw. Then the panels pulled back at the top and out came the sweep. (Metal clips stay on the door metal- dont lose them in the door the panels are tricky to fully remove). There was a separate short sweep under the quarters that also easily came out to make them very easy also. Maybe spent 10 minutes for all 4 doors to make the sweeps a non issue and allows to drop the whole piece of film in since the sides seals are so tight. Made for a very easy install.

^^^ may not be exactly the same depending on year but generally speaking it may help others searching this forum. I've had a few different Beemers set up the same way and pretty easy. Hopefully the 2011 y'all were talking about isn't such a beeyatch if I ever get one!
