Anyone done ppf on range rover evogue? Curious how to go about the lettering on the hood.......

Tell the customer to pay for a new set or remove them and leave 'em off. New set runs usually 80-100 bones. OR kit it!

I just pull them off put tape back on them an put then in a ziplock. And give it back to the customer

Even the kits don't have cut outs for the lettering. (Atleast mine doesn't). Ended up cutting around it and about half way through it realized how crappy the letters are stuck on there. Should have just taken them off. Owell..... Wasn't to bad a a car except for the lettering.

Don't know what kinda customers everyone deals with but removing all the letters and leaving them off would NEVER fly with the customers I usually have.

I give the customers a choice. Remove the lettering... (Everyone knows you have a range rover & they are all impressed, even without the letters on the hood) and then the install will look much better.

Or, cut around it, & it won't look that great.

I would have cut the kit and then extended everything out to compensate. Thats what we do for all land rover and range rovers.

We lay a poiece of film across the top of all of the letters and mark on the film where the bottom of the hood is. Then we remove all of the letters with fishing line (they stay stuck to the film so you can maintain the spacing). Once you are finished with the install, remove the adhesive from the back of the letters and replace with fresh 3M double sided foam tape. Once you are done with this, you are redy to reapply the letters. It's a little labor intensive removing all of the adhesive and replacing, but it looks flawless if done right (we do this on 10-12 Range Rovers a month). You might want to have a helper remove the adhesive while you work on the install to keep your install time reasonable.

One note to add here, try removing the letters by freezing them. A buddy of mine did this and wow it works great. You can freeze them quickly with a bag of ice... they pop right off and can be reapplied when the adhesive thaws. I was amamzed at how easy it is now.
