Corvette Help - ASAP

Recommended Posts

I working on my first Corvette and its kicking my butt. Luckily I'm working on it for a friend so I have the time to get on here and and ask for help.

The car is a 1995 Corvette, (pic below)

I need as much advise as I can get on shrinking the back glass.

Instructional video links, likes to post on TD, anything.

And yes I will be searching the site too, but you all may have come across things that have helped you.

Thanks in advance the people on here are awesome.

Do you have some 60 inch auto film?

If so run the grain vertical and shrink out excess film at each side; this isn't easy either but much easier than running the film grain (machine direction) horizontally as we have become accustom to.

If no 60 inch film, then you need make sure your mid-way horizontal anchor line runs with the defroster rather than straight across.

Had one of those in last week. Got it all shrunk then went to the inside to clean the glass for the install...and low and behold....some genius had done some serious grinding/welding in there without protecting the glass. :mad Called the customer, told him the mess the back glass was in and what it would look like if I installed the film and he decided to forget it. I installed it and took pics of the mess anyway, just so that he could see what I was talking about, then trashed it. Dude paid me for my time and wasted film....which I thought was pretty decent of him. :thumb
