You don't want to put the good booze in the slip solution, so just put in the cheap stuff "Skid Row Special!"

You can add Mad Dog 20/20 grape if you're going to be installing regular dyed film...

Just hearing the name of that stuff makes me feel sick..... :barf

Its getting colder here in Utah and I have a new Mercedes S55 coming in the morning. I want to try adding alcohol to my slip on this one.

3 questions:

1. 70% or 90%

2. What ratio should I be using? 1:1 or something different

3. Should I adjust the amount of J&J I use when adding alcohol

0%

:bingo

Just use a good squeegee and don't limp wrist it. :twocents

Actually, slather the MD 20-20 on the inside of the window to give film that has gone clear that "freshly tinted" look !

And the car will smell good, too !

alcohol in a small amount will not really hurt the film, but it also will NOT help keep from freezing. Howard, EWF, posted a few years ago what a ratio would have to be if you were to actually prevent freezing.

I used it in the past, but have not for the last several years. Just hit it hard.

:thumb This guy is right, doesn't do anything unless you used a lot.

I know first hand it does make what little water is left between the film and glass dry out faster. I was asking what negative effects it might have.
