i do a few mustangs a month, but this was my first convertible. not to bad, no shrink on backglasss, had a couple small gaps and the puffy paint worked like a charm!20170407_163512.jpg.f00da9d2cf47fb9fbf111c8913dbab82.jpg

What's this witches brew you call puffy paint? How does it work for tinting? I've only used it for screen printing shirts and that stuff sucks lol. Nice work on the Mustang!

Ok finally read the whole post. I'm getting some of my that stuff for sure. How do you apply it? With a brush?

Craft stored sell it in little tubes..  You just squeeze it out kinda like laying a bead of mini caulking.

thanks man. you could probably use a mini brush, i didn't have one so i rolled a paper towel to where it had a sharp point and used it to fill in small gaps. works and looks way better than sharpie or opaque pen. on bigger areas or old cars that are borderless i use one of these. it's primer we use for bare metal when installing glass. it makes a perfect border. on it tho, you lay primer first and let dry before laying film.

here's a better picture. note the brush deal on it.

We used that for a while..  It was difficult for us to get it totally black and lay perfectly flat...  Then when it cured it seemed to scrape off the glass without too much effort.

SiKa makes a 2 part matrix spray that mimicks the factory black border material..  On classic cars we will do the glass out of the car, mask a border and spray then tint when dry..  Looks like modern car glass and super durable!
