Displax films

Here's a film installation we did yesterday. This is Displax film. It will turn any monitor into a touchscreen. This is for a local bank that has an 84" monitor in their lobby and they want customers to be able to use it as a tablet with touchscreen capabilities. The film will accept 100 finger touches simultaneously with a 5ms touch response rate. Very interesting technology. The film has connections on the bottom (they can be made on the side as well) that connect to a circuit board with a standard USB cable plug-in that can be connected to any computer, laptop, smart tv, etc. This piece of glass will be installed over top of the monitor that's flush mounted into a wall.

you can see the connections on the right at the bottom of the film.

This is a $3000 piece of film, 60" x 82". It's applied pretty much like any other film out there that we're used to installing.

So you would touch the glass side, correct? Film side being protected between the glass and the monitor?

you touch the glass side.... the film, on the inside, has tons of little wires that look alot like mercedes windows with tiny defrost wires running through it. they are VERY hard to see....but they are there.
