When you can't see try a piece of white paper tucked in rear deck with light on works great for seeing behind headlight to cut.....

Its sign material, what they use for road signs and such. I make signs so I have tons of it, Go to a local sign shop for a scrap or lowes has it in section with mailboxes.

Lose the paper and get you a white plastic dealership tag (like they put on the front for advertisement)

 

This will also tell you how far can go below the bottom line on the hat rack. If the tag won't fit behind the brake light,,,then the film might not either.  The tag will tell you lots of things if you pay attention.   AND, it won't tear up if it gets wet,, and it doesn't wrinkle
